Admissions

MHCA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origins.  We do seek to attract families who are committed to spiritual, intellectual, and personal growth.  We reserve the right to decide, in our sole discretion, which families are making these aspirations a priority.  We expect our students and families to maintain a positive attitude toward the Academy and its underlying spiritual values.

Specific procedures for enrollment are outlined in the New Student Enrollment Packet, which may be obtained at the Academy office or by clicking the link on our home page.

Placement

Students are placed into specific grade levels based on nationally normed standardized test scores, report card grades, and/or assessment of the child by the administration.

Pre-K 4 & Kindergarten – The standard age requirement to enter K4 is for the child’s 4th Birthday to be on or before August 1, and Kindergarten is for the child’s 5th Birthday, to be on or before August 15th.

Books

MHCA uses curriculum published by A Beka Book and Bob Jones Press.  Each family pays an annual fee to cover the cost of student books.    The rate varies from lower grades to upper grades.

Registration

Any student interested in attending MHCA must complete the following:

  • New Student Application
  • Meet with the Administration for an interview if applicable
  • Receive notification of acceptance
Tuition

MHCA tuition rates are among the lowest for private schools anywhere.  Please contact our offices for current rates.  Annual tuition is paid on a 10 month plan (Aug-May) and due on the 1st day of each month and is considered delinquent after the 10th day of the month.

Handbook
Each family receives a Parent/student Handbook at the beginning of the school year with policies and procedures.  In the back of the handbook there is a Parent/Student Pledge that is signed and returned to the office confirming the acceptance of MHCA policy.
Lunch
Students are required to bring their own snack, lunch, and water daily.  (Please refer to the Handbook for nutrition guidelines.) However, 2-3 days per week, an optional “hot lunch” from an outside source will be made available for purchase at a nominal fee.
Aftercare

MHCA provides the option of aftercare as a service to school families.  It is available from 3:00-5:30 at a nominal fee.
