Senior Spotlight | Class of 2022 | Jill Wendfeldt
Jill Wendfeldt is a senior at Mountain Home Christian Academy where she has attended for 6 years. She is the daughter of Dr. Kyle and Chris Wendfeldt. Jill will graduate with honors on Friday and will attend John Brown University, in Siloam Springs in the fall, where she plans to pursue a degree in Biology with the hope of becoming an obstetrical and gynecological physician in the Air Force.
Because of Jill’s outstanding ACT score and above 4.0 GPA, Jill was awarded the distinguished Arkansas Governor’s Scholarship as well as the Chancellor’s Scholarship from John Brown University.
Jill is a two-year National Honor Society member. At the Mountain Home Public School, she placed first in All-Region Choir and seventh in All-State Choir in her voice category. Jill is also a four- year band member, playing flute, tenor saxophone and percussion instruments.
In her spare time, Jill likes to read and play piano. Her favorite author is Orson Scott Card and her favorite artist is French composer, Claude Debussy. She says her dream job position would be “a flutist in the National Philharmonic Orchestra”. Three things on Jill’s bucket list are: to go skydiving, publish a book and travel throughout Europe. One way Jill says she can impact the world is: “by living according to God’s will.”
When asked how Mountain Home Christian Academy has impacted and prepared Jill for her future, she replied, “by allowing me to learn with a Christian worldview, with people who share my convictions”. Jill’s favorite scripture passage is Psalm 121 and her favorite book of the Bible is James, “because it contains guidance for how to live as a Christian.”
Something important Jill’s parents have taught her is “to always be honest and diligent.”
Jill says her greatest accomplishment to date is “mastering the perfect meringue.” Something she would tell her younger self is: “study earlier, don’t put off work that can be done today. Time passes too quickly to dilly-dally.”
