Christmas Chaos in the best way possible ❤️

Busy time of year! MHCA prayer walk at 8:15 this morning, meet at the main office.

AND THE WINNER IS............"FREEGAN'S MUTZS"!!!
Today the Entrepreneurship Class hosted an in-class "Shark Tank" episode that allowed students to attempt to procure investments for the businesses they created over the course of the semester.
Four teams were represented in the "Shark Tank":
Freegan's Mutzs - a rebuild and refurbish establishment
Lotus Yoga & Cafe - a business that offers yoga classes, coffee and snacks
Petals - a pop-up business offering home grown flowers & bouquets
The Chillow - an online business that provides cooling pillows
It was a great opportunity to allow the students to showcase all their hard work and to challenge them with the impromptu questions posed by the "sharks". We would all like to give a huge "thank you" to the parents, staff and administration that were willing to give their time to make this venture a huge success!! It was a fun learning experience for all!!

We have learned about farm animals this week, so today we specifically learned about pigs and how messy they are! We decided to play in mud ;)

The MHCA "halls" will be decked and open for your viewing pleasure and enjoyment as we have decorated in honor of Jesus' Birthday! Each door or pod has chosen a Christmas song to inspire their decor choice. Can you guess the song? Light Refreshments will be served. Wednesday, December 18, drop-in from 1:00-3:00pm.

Mrs. Ivens taught fifth graders how to make snowmen ornaments today.

Thank you, Ms. Faith, for preparing us for a wonderful Christmas program!

Kindergarten has been talking about cows and dairy. Today, we made butter! Yum!

The EPIC meeting scheduled for tomorrow at noon has been cancelled. EPIC will meet again on Wednesday, Jan. 15th at noon. Also, just a reminder the "Happy Birthday Jesus" parties in the Early Ed building will be at 2:30 on Thursday, Dec. 19th not Dec. 12th as previous communications shared. Thank you!

First grade is practicing their measuring skills by making "hot chocolate" according to the recipe cards in our sensory table!
Hot chocolate is being served, shaken not stirred 😂

Parents are welcome to attend our Wednesday weekly chapels! Times vary a bit depending on the length of each guest's devotion but usually the chapel for 6th-12th grade begins around 8:00am and the chapel for K-5th grade begins between 8:20 and 8:30am. Hope to see some of you there this Wednesday!

Recently Fifth Grade held our own "Pie Day" as a culminating activity to reading the book, "PIE" by Sarah Weeks. Entries were judged by MHCA staff and the coveted "Blueberry Awards" were given out by Mrs. Peglar.

The lady Eagle Volleyball champions are continuing to raise money for their championship rings. They will be selling baked goods outside of Harps this Friday, Dec. 13 from 3-6pm. If you love to bake and would like to make something to donate to their sale, drop it by MHCA Thursday morning or bring it to the sale by 2:45 on Friday. If you can't bake, come shop the bake sale and support our athletes! Go Eagles!!

Fifth graders conducted an experiment on surface area. They tested crushed vs. whole peppermints disolving in warm water. They discovered that increased surface area meant a quicker dissolving rate.

Hanging at Rapp's Barren making hot chocolate to share at the parade.
