First grade got right back to work with word building this morning!

We pray our students are feeling refreshed from their time away from school for Spring Break! To help you plan for the week, we just wanted to remind you that this Friday is a make up day and school will be in session.

We are so grateful for an incredible mission trip! Our team arrived home late Friday afternoon tired but excited for how the week went! Our students lived out the mission and vision of MHCA—serving with Christ-like humility, demonstrating character, and sharing the love of Jesus. They worked hard, encouraged others, and represented our school and faith with excellence. Thank you to everyone who prayed for this trip—your support made a difference! We can’t wait to see how God continues to use these experiences to shape our students into servant leaders. Put April 16th on your calendar and come to Chapel that morning as our students recap the week for our families and students!

Today, we marveled at God’s handiwork with a beautiful hike in the Appalachian Mountains, enjoying His creation and the sunshine. After a fun-filled afternoon, we had the privilege of serving at Celebrate Recovery—preparing and sharing a meal, then leading worship as we witnessed God’s grace in action. Our hearts are full as we continue to serve and grow together! Keep us in your prayers tomorrow as we travel home.

Our mission team has been hard at work! Last night, we walked in prayer and delivered blessing bags to those in need. Today, we cleaned a home for disabled women, shared the love of Christ through Vacation Bible School with 22 students at the local public school, and served dinner to our host church. Grateful for the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus!

Day two included lots of hard work on a damaged house, work at the food bank, after school Bible lessons and activities at local public school, and a birthday for Kayden Wright!

Keep our mission team in your prayers this week! We had a safe trip today and a great meal and Mondays schedule will include work in a house that was damaged in the flood here, and putting together and providing meals in town.
We will also be doing an afterschool VBS program in the local public school. #thirstmissions

Third grade enjoys the last day before spring break with a science experiment. Making slim is always a win for the students.

Kindergarten is SMILING about Spring Break!

Fifth graders went on a world wide "Nations" tour to Portugal, France, Myanmar, Japan, Mexico, Jamaica, Russia, South Africa and the Bahamas all in three days!

Fifth grade made a food web showing connection between producers, herbivores, carnivores and omnivores.

Tomorrow has been designated MHCA T-shirt day. Instead of your uniform, students and staff may wear a MHCA tshirt and jeans!

First graders are working on comparing characters in the books we read. One tool we are using to help us compare is a Venn Diagram. We are comparing our Ant and Grasshopper characters 🐜🦗!

After rocking their book reports and vocabulary quizzes, the freshmen are enjoying some board games. Shhh, don't tell them they're still using their brains.

"A special thank you to the students, staff and parents of MHCA who participated in the work day at Bakersfield, in the aftermath of the tornado. The love and hard work shown by this outstanding group of people was a blessing to the town and the Bakersfield Church of Christ. We couldn't have accomplished everything without you!!! Your light will continue to shine as we distribute items to the community members in need." -Jennifer Bridges

Our MHCA students had the opportunity to serve in Bakersfield, bringing help and hope to the community after the recent tornado. The student's worked hard to assist those in need, demonstrating Christ’s love through their actions. We are proud of their servant hearts and willingness to be the hands and feet of Jesus!!

Due to the work being done by the 9th through 12th graders in Bakersfield today, track and field practice has been canceled for today. Thank you.
